FC Halifax Town have announced that midfielder Michael Collins has decided to leave the Shaymen. He will retire from the professional game and will be focusing his time on his coaching career with Bradford City. Our sincere gratitude goes to Michael for his immense contribution both on and off the pitch last season.

Town boss Jamie Fullarton told the official website,

โ€œDue to the change to morning training and Michaelโ€™s coaching career progressing at Bradford City, Michael has taken the decision to retire from playing to focus fully on coaching. Michael will be missed for his influence on the pitch and in the dressing room but we respect his decision and wish him well.ย  We’ve made it clear that should his situation change then he would be welcomed back to play for FC Halifax Town.โ€

Good luck Michael and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.
