FC Halifax Town marked the half way point of our pre-season schedule with an emphatic win over Clitheroe.
Angelo Cappello made a great run down the left-hand side, fired a shot in low, but the keeper made a good save. Florent Hoti picked up the rebound, but saw his shot saved as well. Jamie Cooke was next to try his luck, but his effort deflected narrowly over the bar for a corner.
Town made the breakthrough after just over a quarter of an hour. Hoti slid Cappello in on the left-hand side. The winger cut it back to Hoti who fired a low drive into the bottom corner.
Early into the second half, Town doubled their lead. Second half substitute, Harvey Sutcliffe, fired in an inch perfect shot to the top corner from 30 yards out.
It was a quick fire double for The Shaymen. Hoti ran down the left-hand side, before chipping a cross in to the corner of the six-yard box. Will Harris stuck a leg to poke it past the keeper and make it 3-0 and net his first of pre-season.
Again, it wasn’t long for Town to make it four. Harris turned provider as Hoti tapped home from close range for his second of the game.
With just 11 minutes left on the clock, Sean Tarima made it five. Following a good run down the right, Tarima hit in a cross-come-shot that dipped under the bar to find the back of the net.
Up next for The Shaymen is a trip to National League North side Macclesfield on Saturday.
