Following FC Halifax Town’s 2-1 win over Solihull Moors, Sam Johnson looks ahead to the prospect of facing Chesterfield.
“Saturday was a great three points for us. It was a tough game,” stated Johnson.
“We knew what they [Solihull] were going to bring, there was a lot of turning, trying to spin us behind and pick up on the second balls, but I think we all stood up to it.”
Chesterfield currently occupy 22nd place in the league table and are yet to record a win, but Johnson insisted that Chesterfield will be a stern test.
“Chesterfield are a good team and we had a really tough game there last year. We can’t switch off thinking that it’s going to be an easy game just because we’re near the top and they’re near the bottom. We know what they possess and we’ve got to stand up again.”
“There’s an element of wanting to make amends for our last meeting with them. It’s a good ground to go to with a good crowd and that gets everyone going. It can give you an extra five or ten percent. Hopefully we take a big following there and give the fans something to smile about!”
