On Tuesday night we travel to the Proact Stadium where we face Chesterfield who have struggled to get things going so far this season. In this article I look at Chesterfield star-man Scott Boden whose scored four goals already this campaign.

Scott started his career at newly Premier League side Sheffield United. He came through the youth, but never found a game for The Blades. He was loaned out to IFK Mariehamn in Finland, while at Sheffield United. Scott only played five games for the side as a teenager.

The year was 2008 and Boden moved to League Two side Chesterfield. In his first season, he only participated in 10 games, where he bagged two goals. In the next three seasons, he become a more prominent figure for Chesterfield. He still only managed 13 goals in them three seasons. He started to phase out of the Chesterfield side, and he was sent on loan to Macclesfield and Alfreton Town in his final two years at Chesterfield.

After spending five years at The Spireites, Boden joined Macclesfield Town who were playing in the fifth tier. Boden had a successful season scoring 18 goals for the club and went on the move again the following season. Which is when he joined the mighty Shaymen! It was FC Halifax Town second season in the fifth tier and Boden joined Aspinโ€™s side to push on from the season before. Boden enjoyed his time at the Shaymen scoring 10 league goals in 38 games.

Boden was on the move each year now, as his next club was down in South Wales, where he went back to the football league to join Newport County. He certainly impressed at Newport, as he was always on the team-sheet. A difference of lifestyle the following year sent him to Scotland to Inverness Caledonian Thistle to play in the Scottish Premiership. Scottโ€™s move wasnโ€™t so successful, which seen him leave the club after one season, to go on to join National League sides Wrexham and Gateshead.

After them two sides, he found his way back to Chesterfield. In January 2019, Boden joined Chesterfield on an 18-month contract. He was a dominant figure in Chesterfieldโ€™s survival last season as he scored 10 goals in 15 games in the final half of the season. Heโ€™s started this season all guns blazing up top with former Shayman Mike Fondop-Talom.
