FC Halifax Town U19’s was back in action in a cup fixture earlier on Wednesday as they faced Chesterfield in a game where it took till extra time to settle the score as Chesterfield came out on top by a 5-4 win.
The Town’s goals came from Oscar Sowden and Daniel Jackson in the first 90 minutes. Gradi Mampala and Jayden Cuffe added to the Towns’ scoresheet in the extra time.
Coach Steve Nichol spoke briefly after this game as he took over the U19’s this week as he says, “The team performed well, it is only their third game in this league and their understanding of our structure and how we want to play is getting better each week.”
He continued,“We were close to winning the game in normal time and deserved the lead only to concede deep into the injury time”
Steve Nichol’s words look like he will bounce back after a hard-fought defeat what ends up in a loss.
