FC Halifax Town have won 1-0 at home to Chesterfield in the Vanarama National League this afternoon.

Town boss Chris Millington made one change to the starting line-up that played away at Yeovil last week, with Rob Harker out for Mani Dieseruvwe in the attacking positions.

The first few minutes of the game and Chesterfield have had most of the possession of the ball keeping Town at bay with the town breaking on the counter multiple times, but nothing was made of them.

The first effort of the game fell to the Shaymen, but Dieseruvwe were unable to make light of the chance.

22 minutes in and the first card of the game was given to Festus Arthur for a challenge against a Chesterfield player who was attacking down the left and The Spireites were rewarded freekick which nothing was made of.

Cappello created a chance on the 37th minutes from the wing, Crossed the ball to Dieseruvwe who was in the box, Mani just reached it with a towering header, which was directed just wide of the post.

Cappello again worked another cross into the box from the wide which was cleared by the Chesterfield defence, but shortly after Summerfield played the ball into the Chesterfield box which made a chance for Dieservwe but was shot over the bar.

Chesterfield was on the attack only few minutes into the second half and Harvey Gilmour went into a challenge which gave The Spireites a freekick just outside the Town box, which was just wide of the right post.

Town made two changes with Matt Warburton for Jamie Cooke at the 66th minute.

Town then brought on Rob Harker on for Mani Dieseruvwe later on at the 73rd minute and then a minute after the substitution, Cappello was booked just inside the Chesterfield half.

Chesterfield made two changes with Akinsola and Whelan off for Tshimanga and Quigley

The Shaymen broke the deadlock and made it 1-0 in the 81st minute with super substitution Harker scoring from Warburton’s freekick.

Another substitution for the Town with Jack Senior off for Jesse Debrah at the 86th minute.

Chesterfield scared the Halifax Town fans as they almost had a chance to equalize on the 89th minute.

In the last minutes of the game, The Shaymen had to defend with tense pressure from Chesterfield but held in the five minutes that were added.

This made it Town’s 5th Home win in a row.
