As part of the joint commitment of FC Halifax Town and the FC Halifax Town Foundation to the local community, the bucket collection pre-match Chesterfield will be in favour of Halifax DFC, a local disability football club providing football for disabled and mental health affected male and female players from the age of seven onwards. The adults play in the West Riding County Ability Counts League.
The club was set up in July 2021 by Gavin Payne and has made excellent progress on and off the pitch in the short time since then. Over thirty players are already registered and their top level disability side went at one stage unbeaten for seven months. There are over a hundred members on their facebook page.
Halifax DFC are a non-profit organisation with every penny raised going, for example, to pay for equipment upgrades, kits, matchday fees and insurances.
