FC Halifax Town’s U19s fantastic season will culminate with a cup final, as they face their counterparts from Chester in the National League U19 Cup final at the Banks Stadium in Walsall on Wednesday night, 7pm kick-off

Mark Trueman’s side will have gone more than two weeks without a game since their narrow defeat at home to South Shields, so potential rustiness is a factor that Trueman and his players must overcome if they are to prevail.

Despite that defeat, the two games previous to that were emphatic wins, with 14 goals scored and just one conceded as they beat Gateshead and Farsley Celtic 6-0 and 8-1 respectively.

Town’s season in the league was a good one, they finished comfortably in the top three, 14 points ahead of FC United of Manchester in fourth place. They managed 44 points, four fewer than both Guiseley and South Shields, who were both unbeaten throughout the 18 games.

Chester reached this stage by way of a 4-1 win over Boreham Wood, Cian Noble scoring twice, as well as goals from Dion Jones and Iwan Murray. Goals from Anku, Sunderland and Cham saw Halifax into the final after their 3-1 defeat of Hastings United.

Admission is £2 for Over 16s and FREE for Under 16’s.

Book on the official coach to the game, just £7.00 per person and departs at 3.30pm. Call George on 07707 143094 to book your place(s)
