FC Halifax Town’s U19s continued their good start to the season with a 3-1 away victory against Carlisle United.

Town U19s go into the FA Youth cup with great momentum next week in a game away against Garforth Town Youth Team on Thursday, 4th of October.

The game didn’t start well for Town with the weather having a big effect of the ball, Carlisle scored first after 10 minutes with an unfortunate clearance from Town’s goalkeeper which hit Carlisle’s striker and bobbled in. However, Town were dominating the play with great possession of the ball and it wasn’t long before town got the equaliser, with Jay Benn getting the ball wide and whipping in a cross which Matthew Rowson got on the end of to score his first National Alliance Youth League goal.

Town then went 2-1 up after the break with Carl Rushworth distributing a great ball through to Mark Adiele who took it past the keeper and slotted it home.

The next goal came with Jake Taylor running down the wing with the ball and delivering a low driven cross for Matthew Rowson who had lost his man at the back post and slotted it home, 3-1.

A good game for Town as they dominated the ball and were able to convert more chances this game. However, there could have been more goals to come from Town as they could have converted more chances.
