FC Halifax Town were beaten 1-0 by Maidenhead in a scrappy game at the MBi Shay Stadium.

After the game, Shaymen TV spoke to Cameron King to get his thoughts on the game.

โ€œIt was just bitterly disappointing really, we never really tested their goalie. We struggled to get a foothold in the game. They really slowed the tempo down, every time we tried to get going, the ball was going out for a goal kick or a throw-in. It was just frustrating from the start. With the decision for the penalty, I want to see it back really because I donโ€™t know if it was or wasnโ€™t. There wasnโ€™t a lot else in the game, so Iโ€™m just really frustrated.โ€

As King mentioned, it was quite a difficult game for the midfielder to do what he wanted, considering the pitch conditions and tightness of the game.

โ€œYou donโ€™t want to make excuses, but the pitch wasnโ€™t really playable if you want to get the ball down and really play some football. It was always going to be a battle and we knew what we were going to get with the game, but we couldnโ€™t match them today. It was just frustrating that we couldnโ€™t get a foothold in the game and play the way we wanted to play.โ€

โ€œEvery time I tried to get on the ball it was bobbling up at my knee. Every time I try to look forward and there was a couple of times where I tried to slide Devante (Rodney) in, and it just wouldnโ€™t sit for me. Maybe, I should have tried to shoot more and test the goalie. It was just one of them where I struggled to get on the ball and create like I usually do, so just frustrating.โ€

Devante Rodney and Manny Duku were announced to have signed on loan until the end of the season before the game. King had his say on the pair.

โ€œIt is massive for us. The physical presence is there for everyone to see and theyโ€™re a threat. Devanteโ€™s pace in behind and his movement is good. Today, we just couldnโ€™t get the ball down and set them. Theyโ€™re a physical side, and they matched them both, making it frustrating for them as well today.โ€

King gave us his thoughts on the trip to Leyton Orient next week.

Obviously, itโ€™ll be a tough one, theyโ€™re flying and need a win. We had momentum before this game, so we need to go there and really pick it back up. I feel we do pick ourselves up for the big teams and match them, so thatโ€™s what weโ€™ll be looking to do.โ€
