FC Halifax Town made it five unbeaten in the league with a 1-1 draw against Bromley at the Shay tonight thanks to Rob Harkerโ€™s first half header and Michael Cheekโ€™s second half equaliser.

Town boss Chris Millington made three changes from the victory over Maidstone at the weekend with Jordan Keane, Matt Warburton, and Rob Harker into the starting XI for Tylor Golden, Mani Dieseruvwe and Jamie Cooke.

It was the Shaymen who started on the front foot with Adam Senior and Jordan Keane combining, the cross was met by the in-form Millenic Alli, and his header had to be palmed away by Bromley goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook.

Good play saw Matt Warburton into the box and his cross was blocked by Charles-Cook and Bromley were able to clear but The Shaymen werenโ€™t to be denied and took the lead on 20 minutes, Angelo Cappelloโ€™s cross was perfect for Rob Harker to head past Charles-Cook and scored his second goal in two games and his 8th of the season.

Adam Senior down the right-hand side, he pulled the ball back, Cappello challenged for the ball, and it fell to Gilmour at the edge of the box but his effort under pressure was well wide of the target.

The first Bromley corner, Ryan Stirkโ€™s ball was towards the penalty spot, but the resulting header was wide of the target.

Angelo Cappello and Jack Senior combined to find Matt Warburton, he turned and beat his man and then fired his shot past the outstretched arm of Charles-Cook but hit the post and cleared by the Bromley defence.

A long throw into the Town box, saw the shot from Michael Cheek hit Corey Whitely and it was easy for Johnson to claim inside his six-yard box.

There was a big shout for a penalty from the visitors in the 38th minute which saw referee Scott Jackson wave away the appeals. A long ball was flicked on and a Bromley man went down in the box under a challenge, but nothing was given.

A high foot by Jordan Keane on Michael Cheek saw a freekick given by the by-line on the left and side gave Bromley the chance to equalise at the end of the first half, Ryan Stirk into the box was headed away by Cappello.

At the start of the second half, a cross into the box was well defended by Jack Senior and Angelo Cappello and the ball came off Cheek for a goal kick.

Town were forced into an early change at the second half with Festus Arthur on for the injured Jack Senior.

The visitors started to show some more attacking intent and a corner into the box, Johnson punched the ball away from goal and the ball fell to Stirk but his shot always rising.

An Alli shot from the left-hand side just outside the box didnโ€™t have the direction and out for a goal kick.

Town were left off with the aid of a offside flag, a freekick into the box following Arthurโ€™s foul, Ryan Stirk ball into the box was headed up into the air and as it was played back goalwards it fell to Cheek in the box and he tapped home for what he thought would be the equaliser but it was ruled out for offside.

However, the visitors did get an equaliser on 75 minutes as Michael Cheek tapped home after a cross was headed back across goal for his 15th league goal of the season.

A driving run by Warburton and shot forced a save from Charles-Cook and Dieseruvwe looked to get onto the rebound, but the offside flag was up against the Town man.

Town were close to going back ahead when a freekick from Warburton was flicked on into the path of Jamie Stott, but he couldnโ€™t get a connection onto the ball and Charles-Cook was able to claim.

Into injury time, a freekick into Alli saw him move towards goal but he never got hold of the shot and it went harmlessly wide of the goal, before the ball was worked to Cooke at the edge of the box but as he wasnโ€™t able to get his shot on target and it went out for a goal kick.

However, the points were shared at The Shay as neither side could find that elusive winner on the night.

Town will be back in action on Saturday with the trip to Dagenham & Redbridge in the Vanarama National League, 3pm kick-off.
