FC Halifax Town will return north with a point tonight following a 1-1 draw with Bromley to make it four points from six on the road this week.

Town boss Chris Millington made one change from the 1-0 victory over Solihull in midweek with Jack Senior returning to the line-up in place of Tom Clarke, taking the Captain’s armband again.

Bromley broke the deadlock through striker Michael Cheek’s fourth league goal of the season, but Town weren’t to be denied anything from the game with Jamie Cooke’s third goal in three games just a couple of minutes later.

The home side started brightly and forced an early corner off Angelo Cappello, but it was Town with the first effort with Tylor Golden shot from outside the box but was wide of the target.

Cheek’s first effort of the game came on 13 minutes, but he fired over having received the ball from Harry Forster before Mani Dieseruvwe flicked on for Kian Spence, his effort was deflected which made it easy for Tom Smith to claim the ball.

Town forced a couple of corners around the 20 minutes mark and the second one saw Luke Summerfield find Spence but his effort from the edge of the box was always rising over the bar.

Good work from Cappello down the left-hand side, as he combined with Cooke and Dieseruvwe but the effort from the front man went wide of the goal.

A throw on the far side saw the ball fall at the feet of Summerfield, he unleashed a shot but was narrowly over the Bromley bar, when Corey Whitely had an effort from outside the box for the home side but again it was never troubling Sam Johnson.

Cheek had another opportunity just into the second half but his header from a Billy Bingham cross was wide of the target, Whitely’s effort looped over the bar as he looked to chip Sam Johnson.

A quick thinking Summerfield saw him try to catch out Smith with a quick freekick from his own half but it was the home side that took the lead just a couple of minutes later as Cheek scored past Johnson on a 1-1 basis.

However, the Shaymen equalised just three minutes later, a Mani Dieseruvwe header came off the bar and Jamie Cooke was on hand to score for the Shaymen to earn a point for his side.

Both sides made changes and looked for a second goal to win the game, but neither side were able to find it, the closest effort was from Bingham as he forced Johnson into a save in the last 10 minutes.

Town will be back in action next weekend when Boreham Wood travel to The Shay.
