FC Halifax Town B U19’s fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Wyke Sports Village to Bradford (Park Avenue) in a match that got away from them in the last minutes.

It was a good start for Town, with both wingers getting involved in the action in the first few minutes to give their side a corner, but they could not capitalise.

The first effort of the match fell to Park Avenue, their full-back drove down the right flank but his effort was saved by Ben Noble stopping his side from conceding.

In the 11th minute, Hamza Hamdosh had the first chance for Town. Favour Gold goes down the right-hand side and gives the ball to Hamdosh who strikes it goalward, but the goalkeeper tips it over the bar to keep it 0-0.

Minutes later, Town scored. Luke Brooks ended up through on goal and slotted it home, but the fourth official raised his flag and called for offside disallowing the goal. Gold showing his threat once again like he has done many times this season.

The best chance of the first half came in the 45th minute through Hamdosh, a cheeky scooped ball over the back line put Brooks through on goal but he could not convert the chance.

The second half saw Town pile the pressure on again and again. Hamdosh chipped his shot and hit the crossbar, the rebound fell to Gold who ended up putting the ball over the bar.

Chances and chances kept falling to Hamdosh, he latched onto a through ball putting himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. But his effort was wonderfully saved by the goalkeeper.

The first goal went to BPA, the left winger cut in from the left-hand side and curled it into the top corner giving the visitors the lead in the 65th minute, 1-0.

Only minutes later, Town equalised. Gold went on an amazing solo run and struck the ball towards the goal. His shot was saved but the rebound fell to Brooks, and he slotted home the equaliser in the 68th, 1-1.

A good run down the left from Anson Younis saw him beat two men and whip his cross into the box. The ball fell to Gold, but the shot was scuffed and went out for a goal kick.

In the 76th minute, the BPA right winger went one-on-one with Noble, but he made himself big. Charged out and put the attacker off, the ball ends up hitting the post keeping it 1-1.

In the 90th minute, Park Avenue scored. The striker cut in from the left and 25 yards out he curled it right in the top corner, crossbar and in to make it 2-1.
