FC Halifax Town take a break from league action tonight with an FA Trophy Third Round tie away at Bradford Park Avenue, 7.45pm kick-off.

Town will make the short trip to the Horsfall Stadium to face Vanarama National League North side Bradford PA looking for a place in the fourth road with a trip to Billy Heath’s Alfreton Town.

The Shaymen go into the game on the back of two wins in a row. Town were 1-0 winners at Wealdstone last weekend and followed it up with a 2-0 win at home against King’s Lynn Town in midweek thanks to goals from Matty Warburton and Jack Vale.

The result saw Town move up to 2nd in the Vanarama National League table level on points with leaders Chesterfield.

Our hosts drew 1-1 away at Leamington in their last away game, whilst their last home game saw a 3-0 home defeat by Brackley Town at the Horsfall Stadium.

They have two former Town men in their squad with Ryan Toulson and Jake Hibbs both now at Avenue. Hibbs was seriously injured in a game back in August 2021 and won’t take any part in the game.

The last time the two sides met in a competitive game at the Horfall Stadium was 11th March 2017 when Town won 3-1 thanks to goals from Richard Peniket, Tom Denton and Matt Kosylo.
