FC Halifax Town were defeated at the Wyke Sports Village by Boston United in a match that finished 1-0 in the Academy North Division
Town started the match fast, and it was Andre McKenzie who had the first chance early in the match. Cutting in from his right flank he managed to get the shot away forcing the goalkeeper to parry the ball out for a throw-in
In the 22nd minute came the second chance for Town. Ben Gillot found space around 25 yards out and struck the ball ferociously, but the wind took the sting out of the strike allowing the goalkeeper to make an easy save
The best chance in the first half went to Town, right before half time. A lobbed ball from Tom Jenkinson found McKenzie who took the ball down well. He shifted it onto his left and leathered the ball towards goal, the goalkeeper had to react fast to send it over the crossbar for a corner

The first chance in the second half came to Nelson Van who found himself on the end of an exquisite cross from Rico Kilbourne. The header looked destined to curl into the bottom right but the keeper got down early to make a terrific save
Boston scored the first goal in the 75th minute to make it 1-0. The substitute striker made the run behind in between the two centre halves, finding acres of free space. He took his time and slotted it in the bottom left to give Boston the lead
After this Town needed to react, they tried to take advantage of the wind and loft the ball over the defenders. However, nothing was able to come from the lobbed passes
There was a late surge from Town who started to apply constant pressure during the last five minutes, this allowed them to get a final chance with a corner kick
Unfortunately, nothing could come from the corner and Town fell to a 1-0 defeat to Boston
This leaves Town sitting in 8th place in the league, with a home tie coming up next against 9th place Solihull Moors
