Pierce Bird joins the club on loan from fellow Vanarama National League side King’s Lynn Town. The centre back has so far made 13 league appearances this season including our 2-0 win over The Linnets back in December.

Bird played for Dunkirk in the East Midlands Counties League, making his senior debut in August 2016 before having a successful trial at Notts County where he scored against York City in a pre-season friendly. The centre-back had various loan spells whilst with Notts County, including Leek Town, Alfreton Town, and Boston United. However, the defender failed to cement a first team spot and was released in June 2020.

Less than two months later Bird signed with Eastleigh, making his debut in the FA Cup 1stΒ round defeat against MK Dons. Having made 29 league appearances for the Spitfires, Bird left Eastleigh in June 2021 before signing for King’s Lynn Town.

Bird also has been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad and made his debut against Luxembourg Under-21 in a friendly. Bird made his competitive debut for the Northern Ireland Under-21s in a 2-1 victory away to Spain Under-21s during the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifying Competition.

Bird will not be eligible to play against King’s Lynn on Saturday.
