Dayle Southwell caught up with Shaymen TV after his return to action in a 4-2 win over Barnet at The Shay Stadium.

“The game was manic in the earlier minutes.” Said Southwell as the score was 2-2 after just 20 minutes.

Dayle came on in the 72nd minute a tremendous round of applause by the Shaymen fans and he was asked what it felt like to come out to that reception; “It was brilliant, and the fans have been good to me. Its been a long time coming for me and its great to be back.”

This was Southwell first return to the action for nearly a year and he was asked what it felt like to be managed by Pete Wild; “ Obviously I have had to sit a watch a lot of the games so far this season, its excited me watching them. We attack a lot which is good to see and gives me the hunger to get back with the lads.”

The Shaymen attacker talked about the morale in the dressing room after his return; “It’s Brilliant, everyone’s buzzing with the result.”

He then told Shaymen TV how he was going to recover for the Shaymen’s Tuesday night game against Harrogate; We were just doing some recovery after the game so that will be it for today. We will rest tomorrow and then come back on Monday to look at tactics for the Harrogate. Then we will be raring to go again.”
