FC Halifax Town midfielder Kevin Holsgrove has joined Guiseley on loan till the end of the season and manager, Neil Aspin believes it was the right move for the 26 year-old’s future. Holsgrove signed from Guiseley in August last year and returns for the remainder of this season after making 18 appearances for the Shaymen this season.

Aspin said: β€œKevin is a great lad and a good player but I think it is difficult for anyone when they are not a regular in the side. He played great last season and had good spells with Colwyn Bay and Guiseley, so I was eager to bring him back to the club and he has done well for us when he has had the opportunity.

β€œUnfortunately for Kevin we have several other good players in that position. When you are not playing regularly your form suffers and I think for Kevin’s future this was the right move for him at the right time, to go and get some games under his belt and rediscover the form he is capable of.”

The boss added: β€œOf course when he returns I will leave the door open to anyone, so there is every chance he will be a feature of my plans next season. Obviously it depends on personnel but Kevin is a great lad and has caused me no problems, he’s got a great attitude so I definitely wouldn’t just close the door on his future at this club.”
