FC Halifax Town manager Neil Aspin is a big admirer of new signing Ryan Crowther and has had his eye on the 25 year-old winger for some time.

Speaking after the 3-1 defeat again Lincoln on Saturday, Aspin said: “Ryan Crowther is a player I would have loved to have signed when he was at Hyde but I didn’t get the opportunity because he decided to go Fleetwood which was full time and a football league team.

“He has got great ability and I am really pleased we’ve managed to bring him into the club this week.”

Crowther impressed the boss in his debut on Saturday after he managed a full 90 minutes and got himself on the score sheet through a superb free kick in his first outing for the Shaymen.

Aspin said: “I thought he was a real bright spark for us today and hopefully if we can keep supplying him with service and we keep getting the ball to him then he will create chances.”
