FC Halifax Town manager, Neil Aspin is excited at the prospect of having Leeds United youngster Simon Lenighan at the Shay. The 19 year-old midfielder completed his one month loan to the Shaymen yesterday and trained with the team ahead of their Conference Premier clash with Chester, which is live on BT Sport.

Aspin told the official website: “I am excited to have Simon at the club and to get a closer look at him. He caught my eye playing in a Leeds under 21s game last year and I have had many good reports on him over the last year.”

He added: “Simon had a spell at Bradford Park Avenue earlier this season and I managed to watch him in their FA cup match with Kidderminster and he more than coped. It is clear he has all the attributes even at such an early age but till I have had a closer look it at him it is difficult to say how we will manage at this level. He will definitely get opportunities over the course of the month that he is with us and hopefully he can impress me further.”
