FC Halifax Town travel to Lancashire as they come up againstNorth West Counties Football League side Ashton Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup Second qualifying round.

The Shaymen will be looking for a good run in this year’s FA Cup and look to get over the disappointment of Tuesday night’s 3-2 defeat to Gainsborough Trinity. Whilst Ashton Athletic to cause a massive shock against Town in what they are describing as a β€˜historic cup tie’.

Current form:

Billy Heath’s side form of recent has been very inconsistent, a three match unbeaten run was grinded to a holt against Gainsborough after it looked like they had found their form that had The Shaymen setting the pace from the first match. Billy will be looking to use the FA Cup as a distraction from the league and restore some confidence back in his side. Athletic have been in good form in all competitions, with only losing once in their past six outings. Regarding the FA Cup Ashton have overcome Worksop on penalties and dispatched Mossley with ease (7-2) to get to this stage as they look to record one of the biggest wins in their history.

Key-man:

Striker Isaac Kusaloka is the danger man within Jay Foulds side. Kusaloka is prolific in front of the goal having scoring nine goals in seven appearances for Athletic and Billy will be making sure that he doesn’t get any time in front of goal to punish The Shaymen. Kusaloka already has two in this year’s competition after grabbing a brace in the battering of Mossley.

This will be the first ever meeting between the sides from the National League North and the North West Counties League Premier Division.
