FC Halifax Town will make the short trip to Altrincham on Boxing Day in the first of back to back games over the festive period.

The Shaymen go into the game two points above their hosts and four places above them.

Town have won five of the last seven games including a 3-1 victory over Dorking Wanderers last time out on the 6th December in the league. Since then Town have progressed in the FA Trophy with a win at Guiseley.

Recent results have seen the Shaymen rise to 10th in the table and are looking towards the play-off places.

Altrincham won 3-2 away at Maidstone in their last league game and have won three, drawn 2 of their last five games. They have scored in each of those games ending a run of three straight defeats.

They sit 14th in the table, their top goalscorer is Ryan Colclough with 6 goals in 23 appearances.

They have a couple of former Town players in their squad, Matty Kosylo and Ross Barrows have played for the Shaymen, whilst Elliot Newby has just returned to Stockport having had his loan spell terminated.

The two sides will meet at the Shay on New Year’s Day, 3pm kick-off
