FC Halifax Town were defeated 3-0 away at Aldershot Town yesterday and we caught up with manager Jamie Fullarton on his thoughts from the game.

3-0 loss Jamie, what are your thoughts?

It’s disappointing when we lose, we’re disappointed any game we don’t win. I’m disappointed, on reflection of the game, if you look at it they had chances three shots at goal and three goals bitterly disappointed because the goals could’ve been prevented, the timing of their goals influenced the game and whilst we created clear chances and missed some clear chances we are looking to do better and unfortunately still feel we under performed individually and collectively as a piece. Whilst the score line doesn’t reflect the game it is still disappointing there’s an expectation and demand to do better.

You mentioned the chances do you think on another day some of them would’ve gone in?

Yeah but it’s not today and ultimately today there was three points at stake in a game that was a winnable game and we felt like that we had a good opportunity to win the game. The manner and timings we lost the goals were very difficult for us, whilst you are correct with the chances we created and of the opportunities that we had maybe on another day, but I’m only interested in today and we now go back up to Halifax with no points.

Kyle Wooten’s first start for the club today are you happy to have him here?

Yeah obviously. I looked to bring in Kyle previously last season on loan. Obviously, Kyle needs to get used to how we play the way we want him to work within our system and show why we brought him and add value to our squad.

Not the nicest of days today, do you think conditions had an impacted today?

Yeah conditions do, its managing the game, there was a lot of surface water and obviously with the way we play there were times with our ball carriers broke and dribbled with the ball bringing the conditions with it that’s down to the individual players understanding that and managing the game and managing the games means the conditions, the referee, where you play and what stage of the game. Yeah whilst we could’ve done that better it doesn’t pave of the cracks of the fact we could’ve prevented the goals, the timing they scored the goals influence the game then the chances we created we have got to do better.

Next week is non-league week being you longer forward to it against Chesterfield at The Shay?

Yeah, we look forward to every game we play particularly at home, also it will be a big game live on TV 17:15 kick off and we can’t wait.
