It’s the final home league game of the season tomorrow as FC Halifax Town will host Aldershot Town at the Shay Stadium, 3pm kick-off.

The Shaymen will finish the season with the most points won at home in the Vanarama National League with an impressive 52 points gained at the Shay with 17 wins and one draw scoring 36 goals and conceding just 10 goals in 21 games.

Town have gone on a run of nine home games without defeat in the league and the last time to beat the Shaymen was Boreham Wood back on the 25th January by 1-0.

The teams which have come away from the Shay this season with a victory have only won by 1 goal, Boreham Wood (1-0), Wrexham (2-1) and Maidenhead (2-1).

Pete Wild’s side go into this weekend’s game looking for a victory which may seal a top three finish and secure a home play-off semi final. Town start the day two points above Solihull Moors who are at home to Dagenham & Redbridge. If the Shaymen can beat the Shots and the Daggers can beat Solihull, then going into the final game of the season against leaders Stockport will already be guaranteed that home game in the play-off semi-finals.

Aldershot are 20th in the table and their away record is better than their form at home. They have won 7 away from home, drawn 4 and lost 10 this season and sit narrowly outside the relegation places.

Last weekend they drew 2-2 away at Maidenhead on Bank Holiday Monday and beat play-off chasers Notts County 3-1 at home on the Saturday. They have scored in each of their last 4 games picking up 11 points from the last 24 on offer.

Corie Andrews is their top scorer with 9 goals from 20 appearances but that was during a loan spell from AFC Wimbledon earlier in the season but is now on a loan deal with Colchester United until the end of the season. Mikael Ndjoli has 5 goals for the Shots this season in 13 starts including 2 in his last 3 games.

Town top goalscorer Billy Waters scored the only goal of the game at the EBB Stadium back in September as the Shaymen returned north with three points.
