FC Halifax Town recorded a comfortable 4-1 win over AFC Fylde. Goals from Liam McAlinden, Tobi Sho-Silva, Cameron King, and Jerome Binnom-Williams ensured Town took all three points.

Despite going in 2-1 at half time, a vintage performance meant Fylde stood very little chance of getting a win. Danny Rowe pulled one back for the visitors, but it was little more than a consolation.

Both sides came out of the blocks firing as Fylde won an early corner. Mark Yeates played it short to Matty Kosylo. The ball fell in the box and Lewis Montrose fired a shot, but Johnson saved well. Straight up the other end and Town won a corner of their own which ultimately came to nothing.

It took just 11 minutes for the Shaymen to take the lead. McAlinden was picked out on the edge of the box. He picked his spot and fired it low into the bottom corner leaving James Montgomery with no chance.

Another 24 minutes past before Town doubled their lead. Binnom-Williams cleared, and a fast-paced counter attack found King who threaded a beautiful through ball to Sho-Silva. The striker outpaced Kosylo to make it 2-0.

Against the run of play, Fylde pulled one back just before the break. Yeates whipped the ball into the box. Town failed to clear their lines and Rowe stepped up to get it past Johnson.

Into the second half and Town continued to control proceedings. A Jamie Allen corner met the head of Nathan Clarke, but he failed to get his header on target as Fylde cleared.

It was on the 52nd minute that Town restored their two-goal lead. Michael Duckworth playing an excellent ball to find King in the box. A few good touches before finding the back of the net gave The Shaymen a 3-1 lead.

Yeates put another corner into the box, only Johnson could get a touch to it and Fylde won another corner. Yeates against sent it in but the header went harmlessly wide of the mark.

Town won another corner, again taken by Allen. His delivery was met by the head of Clarke, Fylde cleared it off the line out to King, who volleyed it goalward. Only a world class save by Montgomery.

With just 15 minutes or normal time remaining, Binnom-Williams sealed the win with a fantastic finish. Cutting inside from the left, the full-back made a few step overs before he fired it right into the top corner to make it 4-1.

The result sees the Shaymen remain fourth in the league whilst Fylde drop to 12th. Town travel to Barrow, who sit 15th, on Monday for the Bank Holiday fixture.
