After a disappointing afternoon at the MBi Shay Stadium yesterday, FC Halifax Town will get straight back to business on Tuesday night as we welcome AFC Fylde. Manager Jamie Fullarton spoke to the official website after Saturday’s match to preview our upcoming opponents.

The Shaymen will be missing both captain Matty Brown and Matty Kosylo after they received red cards against Hartlepool in what was a very strange turn of events. Jamie spoke about how much his side will miss them.

“It’s a blow because both players have been influential, both last season and this season. The quick turnaround gives us the opportunity to get back on the horse and Tuesday is a great opportunity.”

He also was able to give the official website an injury update regarding Ben Tomlinson.

“Ben Tomlinson has a long-term injury and he needs reconstruction of his ACL which was sustained at Sutton on their 3G pitch. It’s bitterly disappointing for Ben, the players, the staff and no doubt the fans because he’s been a big influential factor in what we’ve been doing.”

Over 2,300 fans were in attendance at the MBi Shay Stadium yesterday afternoon. It was the largest home crowd of the season so far and Jamie was quick to give the fans praise.

“The fans were fantastic today, they were obviously frustrated and they vented that towards the officials because all they wanted was fairness.”

He continued:

“It was a great atmosphere and it really felt like a game of football today from the first minute.”

Head over to Shaymen TV right now to watch the full interview with Jamie Fullarton.
