Academy Goalkeeping Coach Opportunity

FC Halifax Town is seeking expressions of interest for a part time Academy Goalkeeping Coach to provide high quality coaching to players within the FC Halifax Town Academy programme.

Primarily the role will be responsible for planning and delivering a weekly (evening) goalkeeping session to Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase aged players.

Depending on the candidate there is potential the role could be developed to include a wider range of coaching work across the Foundation and Academy hence seeking expressions of interest. The post would commence from late August 2024.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Preferable qualifications: FA Level 1 or 2 in Coaching Goalkeepers or the National Goalkeeping Course, Introduction to Coaching Football course and or working towards UEFA C.
• FA Safeguarding Children workshop completed and First Aid Certificate
• Experience/success working with junior goalkeepers in the Foundation Phase and/or Youth Development Phase.

DUTIES

1. Work closely with the coaching team to ensure the continuous development of all goalkeepers in the Foundation and Youth Development Phases registered with the Club.

2. Plan and deliver weekly sessions in accordance with coaching syllabus and maintain accurate records of training in line with requirements of the Football Club.

3. Create an environment to enhance realistic progress in player development by setting realistic but challenging performance expectations, provides feedback and reinforcement, build confidence.

4. Support GKs with match reviews to monitor performance, progress and areas for improvement, support outfield coaches during termly player development meetings.

5. Support with recruitment and longer-term progression of goalkeepers.

6. Potential to develop the role within our developing Academy and Foundation programme.
