A powerful striker who has risen through non-league and into the football league. Martin began his career in Sheffield United’s youth academy before switching to Barnsley’s academy. The forward got his first real taste of first team football at Staveley Miners Welfare whom he joined in 2008. Martin spent time at Worksop Parramore, Goole, and Sheffield FC before signing for local neighbours Brighouse Town.
In his final season with Brighouse he netted 30 goals along with 11 assists whilst being named the clubs player of the year. Despite interest from other clubs, a move to Guiseley beckoned and Martin continued his fine form with a further 16 goals in under 20 appearances in the National League North.
The forward then made the move to Harrogate Town in March 2020 and helped with the run-in of Harrogate’s promotion push. Martin will remain on loan with the Shaymen until the end of the season.
