Sam Smart joins the Shaymen following his release from fellow Vanarama National League side Eastleigh.
The 23-year-old made 27 appearances in the National League last season, including substitute appearances in both games against Town.
Smart began his career playing for various local clubs before earning a move to Portsmouth and featured in their community development team.
The winger went on to join Basingstoke where he scored 20 goals in 41 appearances during the 2017/18 season. In 2019, Smart made the move to Eastleigh and has since played over 100 games for the south coast side in all competitions.
Last season, Smart spent a short spell on loan at Havant & Waterlooville between February and March, making four appearances in the National League South, before returning to the Eastleigh first team. The winger netted twice last season as the Spitfire’s finished 19th.
