FC Halifax Town travel to The Racecourse Ground this Saturday, January 11th, to take on Wrexham, as they look to pick up their first victory of 2014.

The Shaymen have already beaten the Red Dragons this season, in a game that finished 3-2 way back in August. Lois Maynard, Josh Wilson and Lee Gregory scoring the goals in that eleven minute spell that saw The Shaymen come from behind to pick up their first victory of the season.

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell will be looking for his side to make it back-to-back home victories against Aspin’s side, after they saw off Aldershot last Saturday.

Team News

The Shaymen will be without injured duo Danny Lowe and Ryan Toulson, who remain sidelined for the foreseeable future. The loan quartet of Tom Anderson, Archie Love, Joe Ironside and Sam Patterson won’t be available for selection, having returned to their parent clubs, but Reece Gray is still at the club and in contention to start. New signing Jon Challinor could make his debut for Neil Aspin’s side, after signing on dual registration terms this week from Northern Premier League side Stamford.

Current form

Wrexham go into the game having beaten Aldershot Town at home last Saturday, thanks to a late spectacular goal from Jay Harris. Joe Clarke had given Wrexham a 16th-minute lead, heading a corner into the roof of the Aldershot net. Five minutes later Shots striker Brett Williams beat the offside trap to slot home his 16th goal of the season. The game looked to be heading for a draw before Harris struck a 30-yard shot into the top corner to give Wrexham all three points.

Key man

Top scorer Andy Bishop, a summer arrival from Bury, will pose a big threat to The Shaymen should he start the match. The striker has scored seven goals in all competitions for Andy Morrell’s side.
