Tom Denton pleased the Shaymen faithful once again with his fifth goal in three games for FC Halifax Town in their 3-0 win over Worcester City.
The striker grabbed the last of the goals after Kevin Roberts and Josh Wilde had put the home side into a commanding lead.
Denton gave us his thoughts after the gameβ¦
βItβs the first Saturday down here and itβs a great result. Iβm more pleased for the centre halves and the defence to be fair. Good clean sheet and a 3-0 win, 3 points, happy days. Onto Tuesday now.β
The game looked to be heading to the full-time whistle without a goal scored by Denton, however the man of the moment was on hand to head home, in the later stages of the fixtureβ¦
βWe were playing against ten men for a lot of the game, so I was thinking hopefully it might finish 2-0 and another 3 points. But Kossy has got down the wing and itβs great ball, and itβs been put in the net. Itβs 3-0 and 3 pointsβ
The game may have been a great attacking display from Halifax, however it also included three red cards, two of which came from the visiting side. Denton believes the two sending offs that Worcester received really gave the Shaymen the initiativeβ¦
Β βHe made a change at half-time, and it was good change in the end. Hibbs has come on and heβs probably been man of the match in the second half. Heβs made that good change and itβs pushed us on to victory.β
On another day, Halifax may have put 4 or 5 past Worcester, but it wasnβt to be. Denton along with many fans, is still pleased though, with the victoryβ¦
βIt opened up in the last 15 minutes, when they went down to ten and nine men, so we obviously went pushing for more, but weβll take 3-0 and weβll move onβ
FC Halifax Townβs next game is a trip to Stockport County on Tuesday at 7:45pm.
