- Woking is one of eleven boroughs in the county of Surrey.
- Former front man of The Jam, The Style Council and now solo artist, Paul Weller, is from Woking.

- Woking Football Club was formed back in 1889.
- Within only 21 years of becoming a club, Woking were threatened with the possibility of folding due to financial reasons. In 1908, they progressed through 5 qualifying rounds to reach the first round of the FA Cup and subsequently earned a match against Bolton. Although they lost 5-0, Bolton were impressed with Woking and they made the national news. Bolton agreed to travel to Woking for a friendly, which ended up keeping the club solvent.
- They play their home games at Kingfield Stadium.
- Woking is currently the joint most successful team in the FA Trophy, along with Telford and Scarborough. Woking has successfully won the trophy in 1994, 1995 and 1997.
- Nicknamed the Cardinals and the Cards.
- The Cards defeated West Brom in the FA Cup third round back in 1991, which was a huge upset. Woking came back from a 1 goal deficit to claim a 4-2 victory, instantly becoming part of FA Cup folklore.
- The Cardinals have had their fair share of high scoring games. Their record win came back in 1913, when they defeated Farnham 17-3. However, in 1905 Woking suffered their biggest ever defeat, losing 16-0 to New Crusaders.
