FC Halifax Town are set to embark on yet another trip down south. This time, they are set to square off against Welling FC in a 3pm Saturday kick-off.

Town are looking to make it three wins in three when they take on Jamie Dayโ€™s side but standout midfielder Lois Maynard knows itโ€™s not easy taking on a side full of confidence: โ€œWe know that theyโ€™re going to have confidence because theyโ€™re just coming off the back of an away win against Lincoln so we will just have to go there with our own game-plan and hope it comes out best.โ€

Sitting just off the play-offs Town could potentially make one final push, and the promotion fight starts this Saturday: โ€œThe manager goes for it each game each week so itโ€™s become our thing to go through what we plan to do. I think the formation weโ€™ve had over the last few weeks has been working so I canโ€™t see him changing it to be honest.โ€

โ€œYou only have to look at the league table to see that play-offs are definitely a realistic target for us. There are a lot of teams that are around us on the same amount of games as us and there are a few below us who havenโ€™t but Iโ€™d rather have the points on the board. We are only three points off the play-offs so weโ€™ll just have to take each game as it comes. Play-offs are definitely possible thoughโ€

The Shaymen will be looking to get back-to-back away wins for the first time this season and given the fashion in which they beat Hyde, Maynard believes they are more than capable of doing so: โ€œObviously itโ€™s the end of the season now and weโ€™re just going to go into every game separately.

โ€œThe Hyde result has definitely given us a confidence boost going into away games. Every away game we win from now on will give us boost because weโ€™ve not won many so it doesnโ€™t really matter where the team we are playing are in the league, all away wins will give us a boost.โ€

A somewhat uncharacteristic break for the West Yorkshire outfit has been extremely beneficial, and Town are reaping the rewards with their results: โ€œEvery player has benefitted from the break.

Maynard said: โ€œWe all feel and look fresher and the results show it so I think the break came just in time.โ€

Of course we are heading into the tail end of the season, but this is the perfect time to get points on the board: โ€œItโ€™s very important to pick up points on the final stretch, itโ€™s easier if you have the points on the board so if we keep picking up three points then playoffs are looking more and more likely as we head into the promotion chase.โ€

If you canโ€™t make the long trip down south then you need not worry. As always, our media team will provide you with all your coverage from live updates via the Shayman Wall to live commentary and extended match highlights on Shayman Player from 5pm on Sunday.
