It’s always a very tight game between these two sides and the start of this match was no different. Each team had attacking moves but were denied either by the woodwork or good goalkeeping. AFC made a substitution 23 minutes into the first half .Within seconds of his arrival on the pitch Oliver Davies opened the scoring 1-0 to AFC.
Straight from the kick off Warley countered and forced a corner. The ball was delivered into the AFC box and was not dealt with. Warley pounced and got the equalising goal. The score at half time 1-1.
AFC playing up the slope in the second half moved the ball well making Warley chase shadows. Neat play and a goal mouth scramble saw new signing Andrew Greenwood open his account for AFC, 2-1 to the home team. Nathan Smyth and Lewis Blackburn holding firm in the centre of midfield started controlling the game. The move of the day was started by the AFC keeper James Shooter. He rolled the ball to Josh Rowbottom who fed Smyth. Playing the ball out wide left Cole Hand took on two players. Spotting the AFC runner he played an inch perfect ball across the box Oliver Rutherford rocketed the ball past the Warley keeper for a final score of AFC Halifax juniors 3, Warley Wolves 1.
