FC Halifax Town goes top of the Vanarama National League in the opening weekend.
A 4-1 victory over Ebbsfleet United means that the Shaymen sit top on goal difference.
Elsewhere, last seasons Play-off runners up AFC Flyde beat Aldershot Town 2-1.
A new-look Barnet FC held their resolve against Yeovil Town, who moved down from the Skybet League 2 after finishing bottom of the division.
A major surprise was Chesterfield losing to Dover Athletic at the Proact Stadium.  Former Shayman Scott Boden put the Spireites in front, Dover scored two goals late on to take the points back to the south coast.
New boys Chorley were held to draw at home against Bromley and it was a positive performance from Woking, who defeated Dagenham & Redbridge away from home.
A solo Reda Johnson goal made sure last season’s Play-off Semi-Finalists defeated Notts County, in their first season in non-league football since 1862.
Harrogate Town drew at home 2-2 to Tim Flowers Solihull Moors, and new boys Torquay United defeated Boreham Wood 2-1 on their return the Vanarama National League.
Despite going a goal down, Wrexham regrouped in the 2nd half and ran out as the victors, winning 2-1.
