We have some dates for your diary as this past week it was confirmed that the Vanarama National League fixtures will be released on Wednesday July 4th. It was also announced that the start date for the 2018/19 season will be the first weekend of August.

It appears that this latest announcement has grabbed Vanarama National League fans attention as there have already been thousands of season tickets sold around the league. There’s still a few weeks yet before most clubs return to pre-season training but Chester, Chesterfield, Hartlepool, Hereford and Wrexham have all revealed they have sold over 1,000 season tickets each.

In other news, Barrow’s long wait for a new manager is over as Ian Evatt is the man in charge at Holker Street this season. The former Derby County, QPR, Chesterfield and Blackpool defender replaces Ady Peacock, who left the club over a month ago.

Finally, Gateshead have announced they will be going back to part-time status this upcoming season. After a failed takeover attempt, chairman Richard Bennett says it is important that the club is practical. However, there is some good news for the North East side as manager Steve Watson will be staying on at the club to tackle this challenge.
