Matty Brown has now completed his move away from the Club and has joined National League North side York City
The 30-year-old joined the Shaymen in June 2015 from Chester and went on to become Townβs longest serving player as well as the Club Captain during his time with us and was part of the FA Trophy winning side in 2016 at Wembley Stadium.
He made nearly 150 competitive appearances for FC Halifax Town under different bosses, starting with Neil Aspin, Darren Kelly, Jim Harvey, Billy Heath, Jamie Fullarton and Pete Wild.
Matty was unable to commit to the extra training required for the upcoming season and was transfer listed by manager Pete Wild at the start of pre-season.
The Club would like to express their gratitude to Matty for his effortsΒ & commitmentΒ throughout his time with us.
We wish him and his family well for the future.
(Subject to FA Ratification)
