Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. It’s only three weeks since the league version of this fixture took place, so a sense of déjà vu could well be in evidence today.

First and foremost, could I personally thank all of you who contributed towards last week’s collection for Daniel Wilkinson, the young Shaw Lane player who sadly collapsed and died while playing at Brighouse recently. I am pleased to say the collection raised £170, and this has of course been passed on to the relevant trust fund.

I am sure you will join me in wishing all the best to committee member Dave ‘Crocker’ Crossley, who underwent a knee operation at about the time of the BPA fixture last week. Although he was obviously absent from that match, knowing Crocker, I don’t expect he will be missing for much longer.

On the fundraising front, following on from last week’s description of the Goal-o-meter initiative, this time we focus on the ‘Play the Squares’ programme page.

This is simply a relatively inexpensive way of getting the name of an individual or business into the programme for the remaining matches of the season. For as little as £10, your name will appear in the square (or squares) of your choice.

Well over half of the squares, and every one of the surrounding areas have already been taken, so please don’t hang around. If you would like to take advantage of this or any other Supporters Club backed item, just speak to any committee member.

Just a reminder that the Supporters Club are sponsoring the home fixture with Boston on Saturday March 4th. While this is still some distance away, it may be appropriate to make a note in your diaries or organisers. We regularly attract over 30 diners for our chosen fixture, all of who seem to enjoy the hospitality.

Why not join us?

See you soon, Kit
