FC Halifax Town went to Solihull looking for their first victory of the season and that came with an Adam Morgan winner inside half an hour of the first half.

The game started with a cagey opening with both sides having cancelled each other out, but as the first half progressed, The Shaymen took charge with them pilling on the pressure to the home side defence.

Solihull were chasing the game from early on when a clumsy tackle seen Murombedzi booked inside the first ten minutes, the free kick made way for Town’s first chance of the day, but it was put wide.

The first half was mostly the ball being attacked at both ends of the pitch but there has been no end product on the majority of chances.

The first proper chance of the game came inside fifteen minutes when lack of communication between the home side’s defence gave Josh MacDonald the chance to open the scoring but his effort was blocked.

The scoring was opened when Kosylo found himself with lots of space down the near side and after getting past two defenders he drilled a low cross in which was slid home by Adam Morgan inside half an hour.

The moment that put a sad note on the half was the injury to Martin Riley after he suffered a crunch tackle on the half way line. He was substituted and lead down the tunnel we wish Riley all the very best.

The second half began on a negative for Town as Solihull from the kick off broke and attacked Town’s half before Dafo Afolayan was brought down in the area for a penalty.

Afolayan took the kick himself and it was brilliantly parried by Johnson out and the rebound was brilliantly turned away by a team effort it has to be said.

Halifax did brilliant to hold off the pressure that was pilled on them at the start of the second half after Campbell beat Wilde and put in a cross for Afolayan who headed just wide of the target.

Solihull in the end were always chasing the game and that was proved when the frustration started to show when Benbow the substitute was booked for booting the ball away after conceding a foul which he seen to be soft.

This then lead to a series of tackles which were seen to be fouls by referee Joe Hull, both Kristian Green and Scott MacManus for Halifax, him there only player in the referees notebook this afternoon.

The five added minutes at the end of the match were something to watch as there was chances at both ends before the referee brought the contest to an end.
