Kevin Holsgrove said the team are looking to rediscover the form that saw them pick up 11 points over the festive period against Salisbury on Tuesday.

He said “We’ve had a little good run before today, and we just want to get back to what we’ve been doing. They (Tamworth) are fighting for their lives and it was always going to be hard after we went 1-0 down. Hopefully Tuesday we’ll be back to winning ways.”

Saturday’s game against Tamworth ended in a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the Lamb. Holsgrove was a 2nd half substitute and made a big impact, creating several chances for the Shaymen and putting in some crucial challenges at the back.

He said that after this performance, he’s hoping to break back into the first team after a spell on the sidelines. “I’m always hoping to play, but as long as the lads are winning I don’t mind. They’ve worked hard to get where they are and they deserve it” he said.

Looking back on his red card in the last game against Salisbury, he said “I’m hoping to not have a repeat performance, it’s been a while since I last got 90 minutes under my belt. I think it was the game before Salisbury. I hope to not get sent off again after spending so long out.”
