Ten minutes into the second half and Salford won a penalty, former Shayman Sam Walker was there to equalise. FC Halifax Town certainly didn’t write themselves off with Daniel Nti bringing a goal back ten minutes into the second half. Two minutes later, we scored again! Liam King brought the game level and made the three points up for grabs. 71 minutes on the clock and the Shaymen were awarded a penalty. 07/05/17 FC Halifax Town 1-1 Salford City (FC Halifax Town win 3-0 on penalties)

No goals could split the teams in 90 minutes so extra time or penalties would have to settle teams. On the 96th minute in extra time it was that man again Richard Peniket’s bullet header gave the Shaymen the lead. Salford fought back though and got their equaliser in the second period of extra time through Nottingham. Penalties would have to settle the two sides and the Shaymen only went and done it. Winning 3-0 on penalties as Salford couldn’t convert a penalty and the Shaymen went into the play-off final and ended up beating Chorley to get promoted to the National League!

14/08/18 Salford City 2-1 FC Halifax Town

The fourth game into this National League season, and FC Halifax Town were top, having won their first three games and Salford City hadn’t started the season as expected, so we felt our chances. Eleven minutes on the clock Star signing Adam Rooney gave Salford City the lead. The Shaymen battled on and deep into the second half they got their goal with Matty Kosylo getting the equaliser. With just under 10 minutes to go, Adam Rooney was there to pop up and give Salford the lead again and win them the three points.
