Salford City succumbed FC Halifax Town to our first defeat of the season as they claimed their first victory thanks to former Aberdeen striker Adam Rooneyโ€™s double.

Rooney put Salford ahead shortly after 10 minutes with a glancing header. Before Matthew Kosylo tapped in from close range in the 73rd minute. however, that wasnโ€™t enough to claim Shaymen a point as Rooney prodded the ball in 10 minutes later from a corner.

Kosylo spoke to Jordan Hart after the match and said โ€œI thought we should have come away with a point. It was a bitter pill to swallow.

When asked about his goal he replied โ€œI peeled off from the defender and Dayle [Southwell] put a great ball into the box and I just got a tap in there, Iโ€™ll take them all day.

680 fans made the journey from West Yorkshire down the M62. When asked Kosylo responded to the excellent supporting saying โ€œtheyโ€™ve been quality. We appreciate it and it really does spur us on.

Town will be looking to get back to winning ways when we host Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday 18th August 3PM kick off at the MBi Shay Stadium.

Looking ahead to the game Kosylo commented โ€œwe will go into it with the confidence we had before hand and we will be fine.โ€
