Speaking after the impressive 8-1 West Riding County Cup win at Ossett Albion last night, manager Billy Heath says he was impressed with the way the squad approached the game.

โ€œThe attitude of the boys was the main thing and itโ€™s something we spoke about before the game, that the attitude had to be right. They approached the game in the right way and it was confident.โ€

The gaffer was also impressed with the performance of youngster Shiraz Khan, who scored in the match.

โ€œShiraz did really well. Heโ€™s a great player and being on loan at Frickley has really helped him. Heโ€™s a young player, so itโ€™s toughened him up a bit. Heโ€™s improved his defending as well and we know heโ€™s a great talent on the football, weโ€™ve all seen it.โ€

โ€œAll the young players played well tonight. They all played their part and it was pleasing.โ€

Heath also says the performances tonight has given him some ideas about the development of the younger players.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got to be careful what we do with the younger lads, but weโ€™re looking to get a few out on loan so theyโ€™re playing competitive menโ€™s football. Itโ€™s all about experience, because the jump from youth football to a very strong National League North is huge.โ€
