FC Halifax Town U19s were beaten 1-0 by Oldham Athletic in a hard fought contest.
Right from the kickoff both teams were at the races, Halifax manager Jack Garside would exclaim “the game was played at a good intensity from both teams.” This tempo would result in quality chances for both sides, unfortunately The Shaymen were unable to capitalise on their share. However, Oldham were able to, as in the 44th minute a mistake in the midfield led to the breakthrough making it 1-0 to the home side.
The pace continued through the break as both teams still felt they could grab the game by thescruff of the neck. Halifax pushed hard looking for an equaliser, However the second half story would be one of frustration for The Town as despite having the majority of possesion and plenty of chances they failed to take convert any, Garside would add “ultimately we were wasteful in the final 3rd.” The game would end 1-0 to Oldham Athletic.
