FC Halifax Town will host Oldham Athletic at the Shay on Wednesday night in the Vanarama National League, 7.45pm kick-off.
The Shaymen go into the game in 7th place in the table in the play-off places, five points above Oldham in the table. A win for Town would end Oldham’s chances of a play-off spot for this season with two more games for them after this one.
Town were back to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-0 victory away at Phil Brown’s Kidderminster Harriers thanks to a brace from Max Wright which saw The Shaymen move back into the play-off spaces. It brought an end to two games without victory with a point at home to York and a defeat at Hartlepool.
Chris Millington’s side have won 8, drawn 8 and lost four on home soil this season and will be looking for that 9th win against an Oldham side looking for a 10th away victory of the campaign.
Oldham haven’t won in the last eght games, they have just one win in their last 11 games and have failed to score in their last three away from Boundary Park
They drew 1-1 with local neighbours Rochdale at home at the weekend, their last victory was a 2-1 win at Eastleigh back on the 27th Feb.
James Norwood leads the goalscoring charts with 17 in 37 games.
They have a couple of former Town men with Mike Fondop, Liam Hogan, Dan Gardner all at Oldham now.
Rob Harker put the Shaymen ahead in the return fixture in August, Mark Shelton equalised for the home side but Adam Senior’s second half goal gave Town all three points.
