FC Halifax Town face yet another play-off hopeful as they travel to Nuneaton Town on Saturday in the Skrill Premier League.

Neil Aspin’s side have the opportunity to stretch their current unbeaten run to seven games, alongside the possibility of winning their third consecutive victory on the road.

Team News

Marc Roberts picked up a hamstring injury against Braintree Town on Thursday night, so could be set to watch the game from the sidelines. This could bring the return of club captain, Danny Lowe, who came on for the injured Roberts. Ryan Toulson is still recovering from his knee injury picked up at MK Dons. Simon Ainge starts a two match ban but the rest of the squad will be at Aspin’s disposal.

Current Form

Nuneaton have faced a slight dip in form over recent weeks following the departure of Kevin Wilkin. The Boro have not won any of their last four outings, which included defeats against Grimsby and Braintree. However, a 1-1 draw against fellow play-off pushers Alfreton illustrated their fight to finish fifth or above. Mark Noon’s side sit eighth in the league table, one place behind Halifax with only two points separating the two teams.

Key Man

Top goalscorer Louis Moult has been pushing Nuneaton all of the way this season, as his 14 goals have been crucial in the push for promotion. However, the 21-year-old has failed to score since Nuneaton’s 3-3 draw against Chester and has only two goals to his name from the last nine games.

Last Meeting

These two teams have already met twice this season, once in the league and the other in the FA Cup. Halifax progressed to the first round of the FA Cup following a 2-0 victory. Goals from Lee Gregory and Scott McManus lined up the tie against MK Dons. In the league, Nuneaton earned themselves a last minute equaliser, seconds after Toulson had given The Shaymen the lead. Wesley York opened the scoring after only five minutes, and Dan Gardner equalised five minutes before half-time. Toulson then scored in the 90th minute, but York grabbed his second of the night moments later.
