Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. It seems like only yesterday that we duly assembled at the Gallagher Stadium for Town’s final match of last season, but here we already are once more.
Today, I take the opportunity to run through some of the planned activities for the next twelve months, full details of which will be advertised at the appropriate times.
Our popular Race Night, held in conjunction with the R.A.O.B will again take place in March at the Belgrave Club, Claremount Road. Prior to this, a further “joint” Race Night is also being arranged by Committee Member Rachel Jakeman, this time alongside Southowram Cricket Club.
Vice Chairman Dave Crossley will again be organising the well-established Sporting Quiz at the Flying Dutchman in Boothtown, and a trip to the Greyhound Racing following a home fixture in November time. As usual, the venue will be either Owlerton (Sheffield) or Belle Vue (Manchester).
Following on from the success of last season’s sponsored walk to Guiseley, Committee Member Phil Knott is organising a choice of two local sponsored walks for 2018/19 with the hope that better weather prevails than that endured en route to Guiseley
As mentioned on Tuesday, the regular fund-raising schemes will again be available via the Supporters Club, e.g. Goal O Meter, bucket collections, Play the Squares, Football Cards, End of Season Raffle. The annual ‘Q & A’ with the Board of Directors was due to be held on Thursday August 2nd, and we wish to place on record our thanks to David, Stuart and Bobby for giving up their time to speak to us.
Thank you in anticipation of your help in all these initiatives. If you would like to join the Supporters Club – and we hope you will! – please download the 2018/19 membership form (from the FCHT website) or contact any Committee member.
See you soon, Kit.
