Saturday the 15th of September sees FC Halifax Town looking to improve on a run of three consecutive draws that has seen them slip to 5th in the Vanarama National League. The West Yorkshire side travel to Berkshire to take on Maidenhead United at York Road.

The southern side have been in a good run of form coming into Saturday’s clash as they find themselves unbeaten in their last four games.

Alan Devonshire’s sides form turned around after their most recent defeat a few weeks ago as they found themselves losing 1-0 away to London side Barnet and have since managed to put together a good run of results.

The first good result of this run came when The Magpies beat London based Eastleigh at home thanks to goals from Josh Kelly who’s enjoyed a good run of scoring in this campaign.

Another positive result came after this with the side managing to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Bromley.

Back to back wins have since followed the result to bring us up to date, an impressive 2-0 away win at Braintree Town saw The Magpies take all three points from their trip to Essex thanks to goals from Adrian Clifton and Ayo Obileye who added to their league tallies to secure the win.

The Berkshire sides most recent win came in a hard fought 3-2 home triumph over Maidstone United as the team ran away winners after over-turning a 2-1 score line in the last 20 minutes. Two goals from Ryan Upward and Adrian Clifton where rounded off when a Will de Havilland own goal secured the win.

Alan Devonshire’s side has managed to share the goals around the team to find themselves sitting mid table in 14th place with the top scorer title being shared between Josh Kelly and Adrian Clifton both sitting on a total of 3 strikes for the season.

The Shaymen come into the game on a run of three consecutive draws, however, all three can be considered positive results with two of them coming away from home against top half of the table teams in former league leaders Wrexham and last year’s third placed side Sutton United.

The most recent draw came against 3rd placed side Leyton Orient who are also the league’s second highest scorers.

The West Yorkshire side will be looking to improve on their most recent run of form that sees the team recording only one win in their last 5 games, this being a 1-0 home win over Gateshead courtesy of a fine Jordan Preston strike from a brilliant Matty Kosylo assist.

During this run The Shaymen have been able to maintain their unbeaten run at home as the MBi Shay Stadium continues to be fortress like providing town with the ammunition to take on all visitors.

Jamie Fullarton’s side who currently sit 5th in the table haven’t found it difficult to score the goals needed to put them in this position with goals being shared around the side with players such as Nathan Clarke, Matty Kosylo and Jonathan Edwards all recording two goals so far whilst top scorer Dayle Southwell sits on 4 after his penalty against Leyton Orient.

FC Halifax Town will be looking to record a win this Saturday before welcoming Hartlepool United to the MBi Shay Stadium for an FA Cup tie next Saturday.
