LV BET preview to Vanarama National League eliminator matches
Boreham Wood v FC Halifax – Friday 17th July
Super striker Kabongo Tshimanga will be looking to add to his 19 goals for Boreham Wood this season and fire Boreham Wood into the play-off semi-finals. The Wood will have to improve on their home record this season to do this with only 7 wins coming from their 18 matches. In the meeting between the two sides during the season Boreham Wood ran out 2-0 winners away at FC Halifax and The Shaymen will look to reverse this defeat and cause an upset when they head to Hertfordshire on Friday night.
Boreham Wood will be looking to go one better than they did in 2018 after losing to Tranmere Rovers in the Vanarama National Final, while for Halifax, this is their first taste of play-off football since 2014 in the National after a 16th place finish the last two years.
Yeovil v Barnet – Saturday 18th July
Yeovil will be looking to bounce back to the Football League at the first attempt but will have to do it the hard way by coming through the elimination play-off, then an away match, before heading to Wembley. Before they can think of the final, they will look to make home advantage count against Barnet. The league meeting between the two teams happened on the opening day of the season as Barnet came out 1-0 winners at The Hive. Yeovil has two good wins before the season was halted beating Dover and Wrexham and scoring 4 in the process.
Barnet had only played 35 games of the regular season and enter the play-offs courtesy of points per game, but will take confidence of having the 5th best away record in the National League as they head to Yeovil on Saturday.
