FC Halifax Town B U19’s were victorious in a 3-2 win in the National League U19 Alliance League Cup to progress through to the 3rd round against Liversedge at the Wyke Sports Village
Favour Gold had an early chance in the 6th minute. Felipe Castello came inward and gave the ball to Gold on the right and he lashed the ball towards the goal, but the keeper managed to make the save
Town opened their account in the 14th minute, it was Luke Brooks who made his way into the box and whipped it to the back post. It had to be Gold who was waiting to connect with the ball to give Town the lead, 1-0
Doubling the lead in the 16th minute was Brooks. Gold made a fabulous run down the right and brought the ball into the box, the ball ended up at the feet of Hamza Hamdosh who played it to Brooks and he struck the ball with venom to send it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0
The 40th minute saw Town add another one to the tally to make it 3 goals to nil. It was a clearance from the Town defender that found its way to Castello. The Liversedge goalkeeper decided to come for the ball but he fell short and a wonderful chipped shot from 30 yards out saw Town take a 3-0 lead into the second half

Seb Bolton was holding up play well with his back to the defender and he managed to win a free kick on the edge of the box. The ball ended up getting cleared but it fell to Ben Gillott who shifted it onto his right in a tight space and curled it but his effort hit the post and was eventually cleared
Liversedge pulled one back in the 55th minute. The right winger took the ball down the line, cut inside and squared the ball and the striker scored to make it 3-1
After the goal, Town were still looking comfortable. With Brooks looking to get on the ball and try and bring the tempo back to their level of the first half
Chances kept coming for Town but they couldn’t find the one that would kill the game off, and this allowed Liversedge to find a way back into it
They ended up making it 3-2 in the 82nd minute, Steven McSween made a wonderful goal-line clearance, but the ball ended up at the left winger’s feet. He hit the crossbar but the rebound fell back to him and he headered it in to make it 3-2
The remainder of the match saw Town defend the lead and they did the job, working as a unit to make sure Liversedge couldn’t break them down to get the equaliser ensuring their place in the 3rd round of the league cup
